Leadership in Action Breakfasts
posted on January 12th, 2012The Institute for Civic Leadership is pleased to invite you to our two upcoming Leadership in Action Breakfasts in February and March.
Breakfast with Anna Eleanor Roosevelt
On February 29, 2012, ICL will host Anna Eleanor Roosevelt. Anne (as she is known) is the President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Northern New England. A social enterprise for over 100 years, Goodwill, at its core, reflects economic, social and environmental sustainability, with a focus on connecting people to marketplace employment.
During Anne’s talk, she will share stories from her life and her career, including her experiences so far at Goodwill, to illustrate both the challenges and opportunities for leaders working across all sectors who seek to build a shared sense of responsibility, security, inclusion and community.
The event takes place on Wednesday, February 29th and runs from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. It will be held at the Clarion Hotel in Portland. Tickets are $20 for ICL/HLD alumni and $25 for the general public.

What Do You Do When Good IT Jobs In Maine Are Going Unfilled? COLLABORATE!
On March 28, 2012, ICL will host a panel discussion on the role collaborative leadership is playing as Maine fights to provide employment opportunities to its citizens.
Recognizing the increasing need for information technology skills and the shortage of qualified applicants, Mike Dubyak (President and CEO, Wright Express), Stephen Bowen (Commissioner, Maine Department of Education) Rich Pattenaude (Chancellor, University of Maine System), and Ron Bancroft (Founder, Bancroft & Co.) teamed up to create and support a plan that will deliver highly-trained IT graduates to Maine’s workforce ― from Maine’s university system. These innovative leaders will address the challenges and opportunities that face Maine employers and outline the roadmap engineered to address these challenges.
